2024 Bloomington
The first FARMette, with keynote Tim Grimm.
FARMette Indiana, hosted by HooMac
FARMette is a single day each year devoted to Indiana's original folk and songwriter music. It brings together songwriters, performers, venues, presenters, and industry partners from across the state for showcases, panels and workshops, networking, and live performance.
The name tells you the relationship. A FARMette is a taste of FARM, the little version of the Folk Alliance Region Midwest gathering, and FARMette events take place in other states across the FARM region. HooMac hosts FARMette Indiana, held only in Indiana, in permanent partnership with FARM, the regional home of the Folk Alliance International community.
Rooted in the traditions of those larger gatherings, FARMette is built at a Hoosier scale: intimate, welcoming, and focused on connecting Indiana's original music community to one another and to the wider folk world.
Each FARMette opens with a kickoff event the night before and closes with a brunch the morning after. In between: a keynote, expert panels, mentor conversations, and an afternoon and evening of private showcases hosted by venues and presenters from around the state.
Each year FARMette is held in a different Indiana city. The first three, in Bloomington, Nashville in Brown County, and South Bend, each met or exceeded usable capacity.
